Editing Translations
Automatic translations help you generate translations instantly. Weglot users save as much as 80% of time spent on website translation thanks to machine translation. However, we still advise you to review your translations to make sure they are accurate and match with your brand tone. Optionally, you can also edit your translations to transcreate your content instead of word-by-word translation or localize keywords for multilingual SEO.
There are two main ways to edit your translations with Weglot:
1) Translations List:
- Visit your Translations List. If no translations exist, visit your web pages in the translated language or synchronize your URLs as explained in the “Generating Translations” lesson.
- Select the language pair you would like to edit and make changes to the translations on the column on the right-hand side directly. Changes are automatically saved and reflected on your website.
2) Visual Editor:
- Go to Weglot Dashboard > Visual editor. This will take you to a live preview of your website.
- On this view, you can click on the blue pencil icon that shows up next to a piece of content to edit its translation. Cool, right? Your changes then will be automatically live.
In Advanced and higher plans, you also have the option to import/export your translations. Learn more here.
Tip: You can check out "AI suggestions" from the "See details" section of your translations to quickly change your translations with alternatives provided by AI!
