Giving back: Results of our Black Friday and Cyber Monday initiative
Just 10-days ago the Black Friday and Cyber Monday manic sales were in full swing.
But, as we announced back in mid-November, we wouldn’t technically be taking part in either of these days. Instead, we would be donating 50% of all sales made on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to global and local organizations helping to make a difference to those impacted by the pandemic. (You can read why here.)
Firstly, we were overwhelmed with the positive feedback from current and new partners and customers that supported us with this initiative. And we want to thank them for their support.

More importantly…what about the results? So, here we are more than 10-days later and we’re so pleased to announce that we’ll be donating €20,532 to a number of different charities.
The main part of the donation will go to Fondation de France and specifically their “Staying United Against the Coronavirus” program which helps various charities dedicated to those impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Their work aims to help health workers and vulnerable people badly impacted by the virus, providing immediate and lasting relief.
A further part will also go to Translators without Borders, a non-profit organization set up to provide the world’s most vulnerable people information that they need and want in a language and format they understand. TWB responds rapidly in times of crisis and is doing vital work during the coronavirus pandemic such as providing translations, glossaries for key COVID-19 terms, and innovative language technology.
The remaining part of the money raised will be donated to various charities close to members of the Weglot team focused on other important causes, including childhood cancer and animal protection.
The Weglot team is proud of this great initiative and we hope it will make a difference for those facing such a challenging year.
We look forward to a time when the COVID-19 crisis is firmly behind us, and in the future, we hope to be able to continue supporting key global causes wherever we can.
