Doing things differently this Black Friday
In a year where the world has changed dramatically, it got us thinking about how as a company we could play a part in making a small, meaningful difference. Earlier in the year we offered free multilingual websites for those trying to spread vital information about COVID-19 and we’re proud to support some helpful initiatives like CardMedic.
With the impending Black Friday and Cyber Monday holiday events approaching and being among the fortunate businesses still running, we wanted to contribute more (at our scale).
What are we doing for Black Friday?
There’ll be no discount offered on any of Weglot’s plans this year.
Instead, 50% of all sales made on Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be donated to global and local organizations helping to make a difference to those impacted by the pandemic.
We plan to donate to a number of different causes, those that are helping hospitals and researchers in the fight against COVID-19, but also organizations working to end life-threatening hunger and poverty around the world, an issue impacted even more by the pandemic.
Contributing to a number of different good causes felt like the right way to make a small difference - particularly at a time of such uncertainty.
The decision to not take part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday and instead make a different impact was something the whole team at Weglot was on board with and a commitment we made together. In particular to the causes we’ll be supporting. A special kudos to Eugène and Elizabeth who brought this great idea internally.
So whether you’re an existing Weglot customer, or signing up - you’ll be playing a part in supporting a number of good causes this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
