Black Friday and Cyber Monday: Our 2021 results
It’s been a couple of weeks since we were all deep in the BFCM bubble, and if you’re a regular reader of our blog you would have seen that we weren’t offering any discounts this year.
Instead, following the initiative we set in 2020, we decided to donate 50% of all sales made on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday to a number of good causes, both global and local to where Weglot is based (France).
Yet again we were pleased to see the positivity surrounding our initiative and we even noticed a few others in the WordPress community choose to give this year too (👍 Yoast).
Thanks again to those that pushed out our message to the wider community and helped spread the word so we could raise even more for the charities we were supporting this year! Keep reading for the results…
And now for the results
Last year we were pleased to be able to donate more than €20,000, and this year we’re even happier to announce that we raised a huge €35,000!
Part of our donation will be split equally between Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – an independent, global movement providing medical aid where it’s needed most.
The other part will go to Fondation de France, a French charity that supports a vast array of initiatives within France and overseas territories. We’ve chosen to support a specific cause within the work they do, which focuses on cancer research treatment.
The rest of our donation will be split between a number of charities that have been chosen by members of the Weglot team for personal reasons.
